Pellet Gun Hunting: Finding The Right Stuff for Your Next Pellet Gun Hunting Trip

September 16, 2009 · Filed Under Hunting · Comment

Pellet Gun Hunting has made a big comeback in the United States as of late. Everywhere you look, you find more and more hunters purchasing and using pellet guns over their big bully cousins. While shooting a deer or larger animal is not a great idea with pellets, hunting for smaller creatures such as squirrels or birds can make for pretty nice sporting.

The reasons you do not want to hunt larger animals with pellet guns is because you want to be humane and make a clean, quick kill. Doing this with a pellet gun can be very difficult and even impossible in most situations. So stick to the smaller stuff.

When searching for pellet guns and ammo, you need to take several things into consideration.

These include single or multi-pump, does it also fire BBs, is the gun synthetic or real wood, ammo firing feet per second, recoil and more.

When it comes to getting the best, give the Crossman brand a good look. They manufacture all sorts of pellet guns and ship just about anywhere in the world.

Also, when purchasing any type of gun, including pellet and BB guns, you must be 18 years or older. If picking up at the store, you will be asked for ID and if shipped, an adult must provide ID and sign for the package. This goes for the ammunition as well.

For those who prefer smaller versions, Crossman also makes some great tactical small arms pistols and handguns.

I have found a great resource for further research on these guns at JS Pellet Guns. These guys break down each type of Crossman rifle and pistol in an easy to understand way. If you can’t decide after visiting these guys, then you just can’t decide!

Always be responsible when handling a pellet gun while hunting. Even a pellet gun can cause serious harm to people.
