Leatherman Knives – The Innovative Leatherman Crater And Leatherman Expanse Line. Lighter In Weight, More Compact And Better Looking.
Leatherman Tool Group has recently launched two fresh folding knife ranges, Crater and Expanse. These brand new knives – 3 models in each range – feature updates to weight and volume as well as overall series design.
The most obvious change with the up to date knives are the handles, and not simply to look at. “We had brilliant qualities in our old knives, nonetheless the handles were too wide and chunky just to house them”, says Product Manager, Jason Carpenter. “Our goal was to lighten up and downsize these new knives while retaining the present functionality. We also aimed to be sure that became far easily identified as being a part of a family.”
The new handles on the Crater range are totally black, 60% glass-filled nylon. Expanse knives boast a combination black and silver handle made from 60% glass-filled nylon and reinforced with stainless steel. By improving the handle scale/frame design, staff were able to make them about 30% more light weight and thinner than past models.
Blades:
Both the series features 2.6-inch blades, (33-models). Crater series blades are cut from 420HC stainless steel and Expanse series with 154CM. Each knife comes with a combination straight/serrated blade. This combination blade is shown by an “x” in the product title.
The Leatherman Expanse has been created for the most keen and demanding users.
Features:
Crater and Expanse series 33-models are all locking liner knives with up to date Blade Launcher technology for speedy deployment. Across both series, users will discover features such as bit drivers, fixed screwdrivers, bit storage in the handle together with carabiners that can be folded away into the handle. All the knives feature a removable pocket clip.
