The other key difference between hunting land vs water is the calling. Generally speaking the language used by geese is much more robust on the land as opposed to the water. On the water you can get away with a simple series of clucks. Literally just repeating what the geese say to you as they are flying is a great tactic to get them to notice your spread and glide right in. In the field it usually isn’t that easy. A mixture of clucks, grunts, groans and inverted clucks are all a standard mix you will hear from geese actually feeding in a field. Incorporating them into your calling arsenal is very helpful to get geese in your face for quality shots.
In order to transform a loaded shell from a fired hull, it takes approximately seven press handle pulls. This re sizes the case, removes the fired primer, primes the shell, drops a powder charge, seats the wad, drops the shot, starts the new crimp and then completes the crimp. You must complete each step on each single shell prior to starting on the next shell. You usually just move from station to station on your reloading press. One of the great joys of my childhood was camping with my family.
